Indoor Spaces
The common rooms are large spaces where Tenants can meet, socialize or sit down with family and friends. Tenants can book a common room for a private functions. As ‘common rooms’ they are not closed to other Tenants – even when a private function is taking place. As Castle Arms property, they are also occassionally in use by management for events and meetings.
The person making the booking is responsible for:
- setting up for their own function
- putting away furniture as required
- any damages caused by them or their guests
- leaving the common room and kitchen area in a clean condition – cleaning and putting away dishes
- sweeping the floors
- managing any excessive noise
- behaviour of all guests at all times

Common room guidelines:
- Visitors can participate in common room activities, if accompanied by a Tenant.
- Children are welcome; however, they’re not to wander outside the room without adult supervision.
- No pets are allowed – except service animals.
- No smoking.
- Proposed functions can’t have a commercial purpose.
- Common rooms can’t be booked as meeting spaces for other community groups.
- Private functions can’t overlap with previously scheduled programs that are open to all Tenants.
- No items may be borrowed from the common rooms.
- Beverages must be kept in the common rooms.
- A notice will be posted on the common room door the day before any event with the date and time.

Outdoor Spaces
All Castle Arms Tenants have the right to enjoy all common areas – including outside.
Each building has a shared BBQ for Tenant use.
There are also a variety of outdoor sitting areas. If you’d like to sit on a cushion, you’ll need to provide your own and take it back inside with you when you’re done. There is nowhere to store or secure cushions.
We have a few outdoor games [bean bag toss, axe throwing, etc.] that can be signed out. Call Jilly [705-845-2038] or see her in the CA3 office to borrow one. If you’d like a game over the weekend, sign it out on Thursday and return it on Monday.
