Supporting the Community

We can’t say enough about the awesome the Castle Arms community. We see truly moving examples of Tenants helping Tenants, Tenants helping staff and Tenants taking time to care for Castle Arms property. Here, within our CA Community, the giving spirit is alive and well. Thank You All!

Since it’s introduction, the mandate of the Health & Wellness Program, as lead by Jillian Duchesne, has been to provide services to help our senior Tenants remain as independent as possible – in their own homes. The response has been great. Many of you have taken advantage of the social and educational opportunities as well as the physical activities.

AND, you’ve responded in kind, by encouraging us to keep broadening the circle. Castle Arms Tenants have risen to the occasion time and time again to give back to the community with open hearts and true generosity.

North Bay Food Bank

A great deal of research has been done on seniors’ quality of life. Evidence clearly shows that living in a positive environment, with opportunities to engage in social programming, keeps seniors out of hospitals and Long-Term Care longer.

We want our Tenants to live as independently as possible for as long as possible – while having lots of fun! As well as health-promoting activities, we organize social events, such as: Trivia Night, Tea Socials, Applefest, Halloween party, special dinners, etc. The bulletin boards and quarterly newsletters announce upcoming fun.

Here are some ongoing and upcoming events.

North Bay’s Pregnancy Help and Resource Centre

Castle Arms staff host a birthday party every other month for Tenants who have a birthday in those two months. Punch, tea, coffee and CAKE are served. The party is FREE for Tenants. There is a small charge for guests. Call the Health & Wellness Coordinator ahead of time if you want to bring friends or family.

Tenants wanting to participate receive a sign for their door and their name is displayed on a monthly list in the building. To be added or removed from the list, call the Health & Wellness Coordinator.
